EDWIN JONATHAN / ENGINEERING BACKGROUND

About the work.

Platform engineering · DevOps · Cloud infrastructure · Backend software

I am an engineer based in Lagos, Nigeria, working across infrastructure, software delivery and the services used to operate them. I build in Python and cloud-native tooling, keep infrastructure changes reviewable, and test the assumptions behind automation.

My case studies link to source code, tests and engineering decisions. I also document where a project is still in progress.

DISCIPLINES / PRACTICAL SCOPE

Engineering across boundaries.

Platform engineering

GitOps workflows, developer delivery systems, internal automation and infrastructure-facing control surfaces.

Warden implementation ↗

DevOps and delivery engineering

GitHub Actions, Docker, deployment verification, Argo CD, CI/CD and change-management boundaries.

This site's release pipeline ↗

Cloud engineering and infrastructure as code

AWS networking and identity, Terraform, reproducible provisioning, desired-state checks and drift analysis.

DriftGuard ↗

Backend and software engineering

Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, SQLAlchemy, pytest, shell automation and failure-aware service design.

Backend implementation evidence ↗

Kubernetes, security and reliability

Kubernetes, RBAC, NetworkPolicy, Trivy, Kubescape, Falco, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and monitoring foundations.

SENTINEL ↗

Distributed execution and AI infrastructure research

Action identity, retries, reconciliation, ambiguous external side effects and review controls. Current work is research-stage where documented.

WORKING TOOLCHAIN

Technical stack.

01 / SOFTWARE

Python · FastAPI · PostgreSQL

Infrastructure APIs, automation, persistence and tests. Bash and Git support operational workflows.

02 / CLOUD

AWS · IAM · Networking

VPC, ECS Fargate, ECR, ALB, S3, RDS and short-lived authentication. Azure experience is also part of my learning and project work.

03 / DELIVERY

Terraform · GitHub Actions · Argo CD

Version-controlled infrastructure, container delivery, GitOps and deployment verification.

04 / CONTAINERS

Docker · Kubernetes · Linux

Workload configuration, deployment analysis, cluster security and operational debugging.

05 / VISIBILITY

Prometheus · Grafana · Loki

Metrics and logs for troubleshooting; OpenTelemetry-based tracing and observability exploration.

06 / SECURITY

OIDC · IAM/RBAC · Scanning

Permission boundaries, Trivy, Kubescape, Falco and reviewable remediation proposals.

CREDENTIALS / STRUCTURED TRAINING

Education and certification.

ALX AFRICA / COMPLETED PROGRAMME

Cloud DevOps Engineering Programme

Completed training in Linux, cloud infrastructure, containers, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Work and responsibilities.

Discuss a role ↗
  1. Edwin Cloud DevOps Services

Independent cloud / DevOps engineer · Lagos / Remote

Paid cloud and delivery work across AWS, Linux, Terraform, CI/CD and containers. Client identities, commercial terms and private implementations remain undisclosed.

  2. Allianz

    DevOps engineer · Remote contract

Supported deployment verification, CI/CD and cloud-hosted application environments with engineering oversight.

  3. TeKnowledge

    DevOps engineer intern · Remote

Supported infrastructure-as-code work, cloud/CI operations and deployment troubleshooting.

  4. Bincom Dev Center

Cloud and DevOps engineer intern · Lagos / Hybrid

Worked with AWS/Linux environments, application deployment and Git-based delivery, including a two-tier EC2/RDS exercise.

COMMERCIAL WORK / DISCLOSURE BOUNDARY

Confidential client work.

Some contracts restrict what I can share publicly. I can discuss my role and approach without disclosing client systems or sensitive details.

For examples of my work, see the public repositories, tests and release records linked here.

SELECTED SYSTEMS

Start with the source.

Warden ↗

Policy-tiered Kubernetes remediation with a deliberately bounded GitOps approval path.

PR automation defaults to dry-run; production integration unverified

DriftGuard ↗

Terraform drift detection and review-based remediation for AWS infrastructure.

Review-based remediation; AWS-specific

InfraGuard ↗

Source-backed AWS Security Hub remediation hardening: live-state verification, Terraform ownership and fail-closed proposal eligibility.

Design and tests in an unmerged, draft pull request; no production deployment

InfraGuard Agent ↗

A cloud-security remediation agent prototype with deterministic security mappings, Terraform proposal generation and GitHub pull-request delivery.

Human-reviewed proposals; not production-ready

Consequential Execution Runtime ↗

Rust execution-assurance research for exact action identity, effect contracts and ambiguous external outcomes.

No durable production journal or bypass-resistant execution boundary

THE WEBSITE ITSELF

Delivery is inspectable.

Hugo, GitHub Pages and source-controlled publication

This site builds from Git, with content changes reviewed through pull requests rather than edited in production.

Browser, accessibility and deployment checks

Playwright tests cover key routes, mobile layouts, keyboard navigation and reduced motion. GitHub Actions builds the site and checks published assets.
